Almost 100 brothers turn out for the Philadelphia area Lambda Chi Alpha brothers (undergrads and alumni), which is the largest event so far in our centennial events to be held this year around the country. We had a very strong showing of Drexel Brothers in attendance.  

Dr. Edward F. Leonard III, Grand High Alpha and Mark Bauer, Chief Executive Officer, Foundation were the hosts the Philadelphia Area kickoff for the Lambda Chi Alpha's centennial celebration in 2009.  Additionally, Bill Farkas -Executive Vice President, Dan Hartmann -Associate Director of Alumni Relations, and Charlie DeMaio - Director of Development where on hand.

A video showing the history of Lambda Chi was presented as well as a very inspiring speech by Bill Farkas detailing the True Brother Initiative.

The True Brother Initiative tenants are: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service & Stewardship, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage.  Bill described how these tenants will be the foundation for the future of Lambda Chi as we enter our second century.  For more information, please go to www.lambdachi.org/truebrother

We were also fortunate to have two Order of Merit winners on hand Frank Bockius Drexel and Michael Malter Widner.  

Joe Schneggenburger one of the Kentucky's alums arranged for his employer to donate 4 club seats for a Sixers game and a flyers game which were won by Frank Bockius, Drexel and Brendan Ledwith St. Joe's undergrad.
Bill and Mark were also presented our 2009 Lambda Chi hats by Brian Gleason of the Drexel Alumni Corporation.  Prior to the event the Drexel Alumni Group had a meeting with Bill and representatives from Drexel University to prepare plans to recognize the undergrad chapter and rush for brothers in the fall of 2009.  The Philadelphia Area Alumni are encourage to join in that effort.
